PayPal and eBay are money-making scams but not for its customers.

I held an account with PayPal since 2010 for the selling of coins on eBay. In March this year, I was taken unconscious from my home and hospitalised for a number of weeks. During this time, approximately A$400 of eBay transactions were credited to my PayPal and reversed when I was unable to send out my goods. Now PayPal has suspended my account, has sent debt collectors after me for $400 and is demanding purchase suppliers’ invoices for the goods I sell when in fact all purchases were made through eBay. They just need to check my feedback. PayPal continues to attempt to take money from my bank accounts after these have been closed and call centre staff are completely useless. The problem is if you want to trade on eBay you must have PayPal. Both PayPal and eBay are money-making scams but not for its customers.

paypal’s “security system” lacks the ability to take everyday events that happen to people in to consideration when limiting and suspending accounts.
You DON”t have to have paypal to trade on eBay there are many merchant accounts compatible with eBay (not that ebay will tell you this but it is right on their website) I am using free-merchant.com to sell on ebay and my website and am in the process of closing my paypal account as soon as paypal will allow for this.
