Account not closed

I closed my account back in Dec of 2011 for two reasons. First – I was very angry. I was ripped off by an online company, and Paypal said they couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything about it because it was a virtual item. That was it! Second – I read that I had to close my account completely in order to change my country of origin, which at the time was Sweden. So I closed it, and received a confirmation email from Paypal. That was Dec 2011. Today (02/15/2012) I decided to go and create a new USA account in order to send money to my daughter. When I went to their home page, I noticed my email address was still saved there. So I tried to login using my old password, to see what would happen, but I couldn’t login. So I clicked ‘new account’ and filled in all the blanks to open a ‘new’ account. But when I finished filling it out, I noticed at the bottom of the page it still had my country of origin as Sweden. It is holding on to information from a ‘closed’ account, and I can’t get rid of it. I wrote them an email to tell them about this. Let’s see what they do. It’s like they only killed my password, but saved All my other information.
